Somewhere there is a land called the Balkans. Long time ago people used to be different, but what they had in common were their roots. Their souls were huge and their food similar, shared and extremely delicious. Children were very happy, they used to play funny, crazy games outside from dawn to dusk. All they had were freedom, mountains, food and the family. The time, when every family had a small farm, they called it ‘the village life’
Everyone had a small vegetable garden at home. Every child was raised with homemade milk. Slice of bread with honey and butter. Pepper with homemade feta cheese. The best and most delicious tomatoes picked straight from the garden. Slice of bread with sunflower oil and sweet red pepper. The anticipation of the first fruits. The pain of nettles’ burn. The most fashionable pullover made by grandma with lots of love. The balm made with mountain herbs, that grandma used to heal all the heroic wounds. That was the taste of our childhood. True and healthy like the slap on the neck for educational purposes.
Later there came the television, one channel and only dreams of a remote. Not more than two children's series to ignite the imagination. And the dreams grew: teleportation, a wireless phone allowing us to see each other ... Today we live in a remote world, a world built by our dreams. Now far from each other, seeing each other on the phone, but having lost the taste of our childhood.
Let’s begin our journey from here. Today. Let’s teleport to the Balkans in those old times and steal a piece of that the authentic taste of happiness!
